Obituary for Margaret "Bonnie" Yvonne Selbe

Margaret Yvonne “Bonnie” Selbe, 65, of St. Albans, passed away August 6, 2019 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; Sidney Paul Dent and Margaret Joyce Sowars Dent and sister, Rhonda Arlene Howard.

Bonnie grew up in Winfield, West Virginia and graduated from Winfield High School and West Virginia State College. Bonnie’s greatest love was her family. Her loving, caring and humble spirit will be missed by the countless lives she’s touched. From her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends to the residents she cared for with her work as a recreation therapist at Golden Living Center. A job she dearly loved. Bonnie was an instrumental part of the Geri Olympics Team USA, traveling internationally with the organization. She will be remembered for her love and compassion with her work with senior citizens.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Ray Selbe Jr.; children, Carolyn Perkins and Donald Ray Selbe III and his wife Lisa Selbe; grandchildren, Jade Allyson Humphrey, Christina Yvonne Humphrey, Ethan Tyler Perkins, Willow Marie Selbe and Indred Cole Selbe; siblings, Katie Ann Beasley, Sidney A. Dent, Bernard E. Dent and Mark A. Dent.

According to Bonnie’s wishes she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Cremation services were provided by Affordable Cremations of WV, 413 D. Street, South Charleston, WV 25303.
